Floor Rugs -- Frame Your Room
54Floor rugs can make a space. They can also lend character. I personally prefer a room with a rug over a room with bare floors. If you can put a rug down, I say do it! A good rug transforms a room from pedestrian into your unique space -- from plain or average into something your friends would tell other people about. Rugs have been with humanity for many centuries, and they are still an essential part of our living spaces. Perhaps, the rug's longevity and versatility points to why there are so many styles available. I enjoy style, and I love a good rug, so that is what I will make this hub about. May you find it an important rug resource as the hub grows. If you have anything to add, please drop a note in comments. I love to talk rugs.
Maybe a floor rug fits your space. I hope this hub helps.
Here is a look at what floor rugs can do for you. Most who will read
this live in a climate that has seasons. As such, it is cold during
some parts of the year. Suppose you live in an aged house -- something
with floors and no carpeting, and the house is drafty. Enter the floor
rug. The right rug can provide a little insulation, so your floor space
retains heat and feels cozy, rather than chilly. It's not that a rug
is a source of heat, by any means. Walk in your sock feet on a bare
floor in winter and compare that to walking on a rug the same season.
You will be glad the rug is there.
That takes care of the
practical. What about the fashionable? A floor rug puts definition on a
room, that is for sure. Imagine, in a room, you have a modern sofa, a
matching chair, and two lamps -- all on a bare floor. What is framing
the room? What is tying the elements into one cohesive piece? In my
opinion -- without a nice, contemporary floor rug -- nothing. This is
why I love floor rugs and advise my friends to get them. These rugs
come in a range of styles and are a great accent -- that can take a
room from ho-hum to wow!
Styles include traditional, Persian, shaggy, faux
animal hide, contemporary -- the list goes on. In addition, you can
find floor rugs made with recycled or sustainable materials. I love
going green, and I do love a green rug, no matter its actual color.
I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say about floor rugs at this time. When I do, I will be sure to add it.
I do hope you find this hub about things you can walk all over -- rugs -- beneficial to you. Some may say, why buy a floor rug? I say, why not?
