Wall Mirrors -- Where to Buy
59In a modern home, condo, or flat, wall mirrors are a functional accent. The right wall mirror can even be a centerpiece. I like my wall mirrors not-too-big, with a side of elegance. To be sure though, wall mirrors come in a variety of sizes and appointments -- something to please everybody, without a doubt. That is what this hub looks into -- the varied wall mirrors and where to buy them. We will also look at quality. Getting what you pay for is very relevant with this subject. I would not advocate spending an exorbitant amount, but I would avoid the cheapy cheap mirror, as well. Whatever you choose, make sure it complements the room and home in which it will hang.
A nice wall mirror is a decor must have.
Why hang a wall mirror in your home? All the better to see yourself
with, my pretty. Please forgive the mixed reference, but it is true.
You buy a mirror because it is functional, and you buy wall mirrors for
the added aspect of decorative beauty. Out there in the world of
mirrors, are wall mirrors that shine in an array of styles. Be it
round, square, ovular, rectangular, or something you could never call
symmetrical, there are shapes galore in mirrors. And there are truly
more styles than I can remember to mention. My favorite is a square
mirror bordered by a wooden, painted frame. You look inside, and it
practically reflects a self portrait. (Let us all hope we like the self
we see portrayed in our mirror.)
The kind of wall mirrors I do
not like are the ones which are made in such a way -- with such
materials -- as to make them heavy, unstable, unwieldy. Have you ever
seen one of those huge wall-cum-room mirrors made for aristocrats -- or
later, during the Gilded Age? What sort of hoist did that type of
mirror require to install. It goes too far for this smarmy one -- that
is for sure.
Just as important as not going too large, is not
going too cheap. If you buy a cheap wall mirror, you know what you will
get? A cheap wall mirror. Have you ever seen a mirror where the
reflective material has worn off in one spot? Have you ever seen a
mirror that reflects an image that is not optically correct (outside a
fun house situation)? These are cheaply made wall mirrors. Do your best
to avoid them when mirror shopping.
If I were wall mirror
shopping online, I would definitely keep Amazon and Overstock in mind.
Most of all, I would go to a site specializing in mirrors. Along these
lines is SimplyMirrors.com. I will just bet you can guess what it is that website sells. (Reflect on it a moment if you need -- oh, bad me!)
After
you buy your new wall mirror, try not to break it -- and if you do,
please stay away for seven years. (Just kidding. Now, go enjoy buying a
mirror!)
